It all began with a moment — the client, a well-traveled scholarly family, found themselves at a “Dine Under the Stars” event during one of their overseas journeys. They were captivated: the serenity of nature, the warmth of light, the simplicity of shared moments.
When they approached Archicraft, their vision was clear — they wanted a home that felt alive, one that could host family and friends, yet also offer peaceful solitude. It had to reflect their refined taste for materials, art, and the world they had seen. Most of all, it needed to bring the magic of the outdoors into everyday life.
Thus began the journey of crafting a bungalow where earth meets sky — a place designed not only to be lived in but felt deeply.
Creating an Outdoor Oasis — “Dine Under the Stars”
At the heart of this bungalow lies the open dining area — a space that blurs the boundary between indoors and outdoors.
Here, al fresco dining takes on a luxurious yet grounded character. Beneath a canopy of soft, ambient lighting, guests dine on natural stone floors that stay cool underfoot, surrounded by the fragrance of greenery and the gentle glow of the evening. The scene shifts as night falls — the lights dim to a warm hue, and the stars above take center stage.
This is more than an outdoor dining space; it’s an experience — a connection to nature and the senses.
Materialism — The Beauty of Authentic Craft
The family’s appreciation for natural beauty led us to celebrate raw, timeless materials. Every element — bronze, wood, stone — was chosen not for perfection, but for character.
The shell-white limestone floors, wire-brushed and honed, feel soft beneath the feet, grounding the dining experience. Bronze accents shimmer under the evening light, their warm tones echoing the glow of firelight and laughter. Each surface tells a story of craftsmanship — carefully treated, intentionally imperfect, beautifully alive.

Guests & Privacy — Dual Worlds in Harmony
Designing for a family that loves hosting large gatherings yet treasures intimacy required balance — an architectural duality.
The upper level of the bungalow embraces privacy with a nearly windowless façade, wrapped in operable screens that adjust with the family’s needs. The lower level, in contrast, opens generously to the outdoors — glass walls slide away, connecting the interior to the garden and the open-sky dining terrace.
A glass atrium in the central hall acts as a living artwork — a transparent frame for sunlight, rain, and greenery. It allows nature to enter the home, transforming daily routines into moments of quiet awe.
When the family entertains, the home breathes and expands — accommodating up to fifty guests with ease. And when solitude calls, it retreats into stillness, offering private corners for reflection and rest.
The Scholarly Family — A Home of Mind and Soul
Books and art are at the core of this family’s identity. We translated that passion into the double-story library wall — two towering shelves that stretch across the main hall, equipped with sliding ladders reminiscent of an old-world study.
Bronze was once again chosen as the defining metal — warm, elegant, and timeless. The high-level platforms feature translucent glass, allowing light to cascade through the hall, creating a gentle play of reflection and shadow.
Here, intellect meets intimacy. The library flows naturally into the social spaces — where guests dine, discuss, and dream under the same open sky.
